Despite the apparent grandiose nature of the building, Melbourne Hebrew Congregation membership and seat rental fees are very comparable to other congregations.

Men’s and ladies’ seat fees differ, as do seats within each section upstairs and downstairs, depending on location etc.

Members holding multiple seats receive reductions in fees for subsequent seat holders, and the office is always willing to consider fee reduction or subsidy on financial grounds, on a strictly confidential basis, for those potential members seeking same who can furnish some confirmation of requirement of such consideration / means testing etc.

The Application Form lists separate moderate “once-off” initial membership fees, which do not actually include a seat allocation.
